Yes, it is. There's a dinghy pier there, and you can find a lot of glass around that pier.

The best place I have found is in Grand Case right behind the lolos. There is more variety of colors and sizes there. Of course, some of it is so new that it's not really polished yet..we always throw those back so that they have time to age. Happy hunting!

Done! I watched the segment on Today this morning. It does sound like something may be done now that the media has hold of it. Just the fact that he was finally able to see his son is encouraging.

I believe I read that the beach at Royal Palm is man-made. That may be another reason that the sand is rougher there.

I don't have pictures and I didn't play the course, but when we were there earlier this month, there were quite a few people on the course. A lot of sand everywhere, but other than that it looked pretty much like it always does. Again, just what I could see while driving through the area.

We just returned after two weeks (12/6 - 12/20). We never felt in any danger. This is not to say that there is not crime; there definitely is. But I do feel that you can conduct yourself in a way that minimizes the chance that you will be a victim of it.

I don't have the answer to your question, but from what I've heard, if you mail them while you're there, they might arrive in the US in time for next Christmas! . Neat idea, though! I hope you're able to make it work!

I just found out that friends will be in St. Maarten on Christmas Day off of the Mariner of the Seas. They are planning on spending the day on Orient, but wondered if there are any special events there for Christmas. Anyone know? They're not c/o people.

Your best bet would be to grab a cab to Orient Beach for the day. Everything there will be open.

LOL! I agree. I don't let the traffic bother me at all; I find it entertaining! Finished up all the Christmas shopping today, just need to wrap everything and decorate the house tomorrow, then it's time to pack! Sounds and looks like you're having a wonderful time already; the sunset pic is gorgeous! See you soon!

According to this website, which I found via Google, it's the yellow sage: The Encyclopedia of Flags has this text: 'The colors are those of the flag of the Netherlands. The arms show an old courthouse, a bouquet of yellow sage (the national flower), and a silhouette of the monument honoring Dutch-French friendship and the unity of both parts of the island. The orange border sy

Clem, do you buy it online, or over the phone? I went to the website, and the cost is $39.95, but I thought I had read either here or on TTOL that it is $20.

Just heard from Andrea. LaVista Beach is fine. They had some sand and salt water in the pool but no other damage. They got their power and internet back on Saturday.

Denis..just got an email from Andrea at LaVista stating that their power and Internet were restored on Saturday evening. Go, and have fun!!

Thanks for that info, Denis! I'm assuming that the pool they need to drain is the one on the beach, not the infinity pool up the hill. Anyway, glad to hear they didn't sustain too much damage, and more importantly, that all the people are safe.

I have emailed Andrea at LaVista, but have not had a response. I will post here when I hear from them. I imagine their internet service is down.
