Philippe, this is good information! Here in the states, we almost always can drive up to 10 MPH over the speed limit without being concerned about a ticket. You mention 1 KPH over the limit. Is it common to be stopped for such a small infraction, or is there a little more leeway?

I can only help with the car rental question. I have rented from Kenny's and from Ace/Panoramic and had excellent experiences with both. A Google search should provide the website for both agencies. I'm sure others will pop in soon with the answers to your other questions. Enjoy your trip!!

Instead of leaving my bags in the car, I keep them at the foot of the steps to the garage, so that I have to pick them up on my way out. Then I can put them on the front seat next to me, on top of my purse, so that I can't forget to take them in.

That's a good idea. If they're not already there when we get there, we'll definitely leave a couple in ours. We always use cloth bags at home, but we end up throwing away so many of those plastic bags on vacation it's ridiculous!
