Love it, love it, love it! We're timeshare folks two trips a year, but for our bonus winter trip, Les Balcons is the place for us. You won't believe it for the price! Carine and David keep the place spotless! Most of the bungalows have been recently renovated. They are fully equipped with kitchen etc. The bed is the most comfortable I have slept in on the island and the views fr

Have never had any problems parking right in front of or across the street from Rimas. Really easy in and out.

Perfectly safe, with a guard at the entrance. You cannot walk to the beach, as it's high atop the lagoon. Hence "Summit"! The pool is great for kids. Clean and well maintained.

You're right Barbara. I probably shouldn't have responded as I'm directionally challenged! I just meant - if you are facing the Police Station - RIMAS is a few blocks to the right. I sure can't do north, south, east and west LOL. Sorry if I caused confusion!

On the Pondfill road. Facing the police station, about two or 3 blocks to the right. BIG yellow building with yellow flags. It's hard to miss!

We go to SXM on a budget 3 times a year! April 15th the prices drop - so if you can swing it, that's the time to go. You should check out Les Balcons at www.lesbalcons.com The prices are great and the accomodations are absolutely wonderful. Lovely individual bungalows. They are located just over the border in French St Martin on Oyster Pond. Great location - easy to get to Ori

Lee's - if you like everything overcooked and dried out. Sorry, have never understood the attraction to this place. We tried it several times due to the rave reviews. All meals were bad. Won't bother again.

Heard their rent was raised and they didn't want to pay. Who know the real story. But they are gone.

Can't help with restaurants and Christmas, but there are several US type supermarkets on the island. Prices are just a little higher than US. Not much. You can get just about anything. Turkey? I don't know LOL

Well, you won't be able to bring it on the plane. Do you want it in your checked luggage? A nice present for a TSA agent!

Just returned yesterday. They are basically following the USA rules. No liquids, pastes, creams etc in carryons. We had no problems with electronics in carryons. (camera, palm). If you have to have any of the banned stuff,it must go in the checked luggage. And they DO check. Every single carryon was not only screened electronically, but opened and hand checked also. Every piece! We

Flew Delta to SXM BDL ATL SXM and return in February. They cancelled out outbound flight, two weeks later cancelled the inbound flight. Cancelled half flight, but not the other half. It was a mess. Spent hours calling and emailing resort, rental car etc to see if they could accomodate the changes. Repeatedly. If I can avoid it in the future, I will.
