We stay there 2 times a year. There is no internet in the rooms (at least as of October 07. There is a high speed computer in the lobby available free for guests. Yes there is a hair dryer. We stay in Simpson Bay all the time. We drive to the beaches and explore during the day leaving nothing in our car. In the evening we park it at the resort and walk all over the area to many fine restaurants, bars etc with no issues.

We are at the Atrium 2 x per year. Last in October 07 and we had no secutiry issues at all. Walked all over Simpson Bay in the evenings. uneventfull and tons of fun!

Can't help with a wedding planner, but before planning a wedding on the French side, you should check into the amount of time you must "reside" on the French side before you can get married. I think that's why most weddings take place on the Dutch!

Actually, I think you only need BC and ID to enter SXM. But you do need the passport stuff to RETURN to the states! US is the country requiring the passport, not St Maarten. Having said that, they won't let you on the plane in the US unless you have the proper docs to get back in!
