Well Cowboy, you should try it. Made half recipe just to try and it is wonderful. Truly, truly GOOD. I registered it in our community cook off on January 24 as: Annie's Chili & Barbara's Not yo Chili. Annie, I will let you know how we do. Sylvia

LOL......It is a good thing when you can make people smile. But, I learned how not to cook. My husband does not even know how to turn the stove on, so all I have to do is say it is broken. Then all I have to make is reservations! Live and Learn (Mental note to self,,,,Do not ask Barbara for recipe) Thanks for the smile. Sylvia

Philippe, I find your post most interesting about the Arawak sacred ground. My children and I would spend many weekends there in the surrounding water trying to catch a Yellow Tang for our salt water tank. We would always end the day with strolls through La Belle Creole. When my daughter mentioned to one of her class mates what we did, her friend became very upset and stated that we should nev

Barbara, just read your blog and had to tell you after a pit of a day, I have ended this day with a laugh! The Gardener is what I would call a 'Super Soul' and Heaven is busy keeping him out of trouble. Thank you so much. Regards, Sylvia

My son was about five (5) years old playing on Mullet Bay Beach just before Christmas. A tourist asked him how in the world Santa ever found him. Without even looking up, my son replies, 'He comes on LIAT unless they are booked up,then he will have to come on Winair. Any taxi driver can tell him where I live.'

John, it is always a pleasure to read your post. Honest and straight forward. I get so sad reading the negative views. It is like no one looks for the beautiful and positive. Years ago when I lived on St. Maarten people would visit and ask what would make you love this Island so much. I would always answer, ' You have to look at the forest, not just at a tree'.

167. Re: tv?
I got lost on this thread. What am I missing? When we are on Island sometimes we lose TV completely. That's when we read books or play chess. Sometimes GEBE has a problem, we light candles. Sometimes we turn on the tap and there is no water. We swim in the pool and drink bottled water. All in all, life is good and we are grateful to have the experiences.

We will take it one storm at the time. St. Maarten work you magic and keep the storms at bay. Just a few more months to go and we will all breath a little easier. Regards, Sylvia

After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, New York scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years ago. Not to be outdone by the New Yorkers, in the weeks that followed, in California an archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet, and shortly after, headlines in the LA Times re

Please, lets work together to make this the best forum ever. It is fun. It is informative. And it is civil. I do not want to debate or argue. I do not wish to be talked over because you know the poster from three responses prior. No matter how many times you have been to St. Maarten, you can always stand to learn more. Example: how many of you,(without going to the Internet) know the word
