Thank you Philippe. I love looking at what was, no matter where it may be.

I will "assume" that they decided not to put one up due to the people who frequented the restaurant sans clothing and to respect their privacy. Of course it could be for other reasons like the owners not wanting to bother with mini-cams and such but I personally feel that this was the reason.

So I guess that if your profession is a shrink, you should have no problem getting a work permit on the island....

Yes Andrea, it does seem odd that they would put a mall up but I assume they are planning on all the mega yacht people to frequent this place. I personally find it a foolish idea and another that will do poorly like the ones under La Terrasse but then again, depending on the construction and whether they will complete their developments in this market will tell all. I did hear that a Grande M

That's interesting. I thought my in-laws took NCL all the time and a few years ago stopped in SXM while we were there, but as you said, their site says nothing about SxM, even in December.

Very good statement...time will tell. We can theorize until we're blue in the face but time will tell all. And it's those that choose to be patient and wait who will see the truth, good or bad. In the meantime...let's all get back to our issues of the Enquirer...

And? How was my description any different than yours except you decided to elaborate on the wording of a contract in dispute. And I assume then that by elaborating, it will help some cause? Please let us know so that we can all join in to this worthy cause... And you didn't answer me on my prior question...did you sell your share at Aquarius or are you still an investor? Added....O

Regarding the letter, this is just a dispute between some of the owners and the developer regarding the wording in their contract. Simple as that. Not even sure why the link was put on a travel website to begin with when it is an argument between some owners and the Erato family. These owners are happily living the life of Riley in their multi-million dollar condos at Rainbow while we speak so

Actually Rainbow and The Cliff managed to develop before the real estate market crashed. This has nothing to do with SXM but with the whole economy in general. People on SXM websites tend to want to pinpoint the issue to the island but here in the US, the market is just as bad if not worse. Multiple houses just in a few blocks around me have been for sale and will not sell at the prices they w

So sad that the timing just wasn't there for you and your partners. I imagine that if the entire real estate market hadn't hit bottom, it would have been a beautiful place too. Had they started building your unit before you backed out?

Vinny, I thought you bought a nice unit at Aquarius? Were you planning on selling that as well? You had gotten an excellent inside price I remember you telling me.

I believe he is making note of the people in question who he is arguing with who were investors as well as purchasing a unit for themselves and they did sell their investments prior to this real estate collapse for double their money. There is no question in my mind that my condo increased dramatically from the day that all Rainbow units were sold out, but then again, the unit I chose has an abs

Interesting articles...Now that guy certainly deserved to be sentenced in that manner but remember that at the time of his offense he was a "former" officer and was currently a security guard. It truly sounds like he went "postal" by mistake. If he was still an officer when this happened, I would have bet my life that even if he was found guilty, he would have not been sen

Unfortunately, in the US as well, it is a rare case for an police officer to go to jail when firing shots during an altercation such as this or any criminal act, except in the case of murder where they are suspected of being outright criminals and not on duty. They are usually suspended without pay until a hearing is conducted and even then, it is rare that they go to jail. Aside from the fac

Having fun in St. Maarten is what it's all about. What has been recommended above is perfect for finding things to enjoy yourselves but because you mention that you intend on staying out late just be very careful and try to stay in groups when out late into the early morning. Even though you will be on vacation, there are those times that people get too comfortable and let their guard do

619. Re: tv?
Good to hear he is on the island and that I wasn't imagining him being there. I know that there was a time that he did travel to Italy and landed up having some issues... ahem.... All I know is that when he is there, there are very few issues in town because as the saying goes, bears don't sht where they sleep. That is probably why Maho has such a low amount of crime. Once I sa

Hi Irina, I believe that he was there in April but with him, one never knows, do one...He was definitely there in December. I did not see him playing at his usual Black Jack table at the CR so it could be possible. But please don't tell me his son (does he have one?) has inherited his grande stature (and I'm trying to be as kind as possible)? I'll never forget the first tim

This is true Barbara where one good thing could be bad for something else. I guess you could call this a balance of nature... But the way I see it is, these storms have been occuring since the dawn of time but housing on your beautiful island has only been around for a handful of centuries. I would much prefer to see Mother Nature naturally repair the damage it has caused on the reefs than to see

Rumor has it, that he when he sits in his chair next to Paris Bistro, all satelite signals are ultimately blocked. This then causes the "Dominoes" effect where all guests stream out from the hotel hankerin' to eat pizza and Italian Food and just have a good time....

Egberts can cost you (and I'm just approximating) about $5.00 for a package of vacuum packed preground coffee vs Folgers or MH going for $3 per package. I am giving you an approx cost difference and not actual. You will find DE to be more expensive but worth it if you value a good cup of coffee. We usually buy both the cheap and the expensive. The cheap is for the morning coffee when you d

If you charge your rental on your credit card and your credit card honors collision Insurance on International land, then it is free. The liability should cost around $5-6 per day. If you plan on charging your rental car, check with your credit card company ahead of time to be sure. If they don't (some don't) then you can send an e-mail to the rental company and ask them. Hopefu

I agree that Douw Egbert's coffee is wonderful and I believe it was you who turned me on to it many, many years ago! It's the smoothest yet full-bodied coffee I have found on the island. Their coffee is most likely from Africa where the best coffee is bought, like Kenya AA beans. I used to work in the coffee industry for many many years and learned alot. IMHO Kenya AA is superior
