Thanks Barbara. Grace and I were talking just the other day about how much we miss Sint Maarten. We so enjoyed the 15 years we were making that trip. I am sure we will get back there again.

Hi all. Do to some family issues, Grace and I have not been to SXM since 2008. Not comfortable leaving the country and leaving my elderly parents. And the fact that Pelican got to be too costly with their maintenance (rebuilding) fees. I try to keep up with SXM happenings, La Bamba is the old Buccaneer Beach Bar?

Hi Elaine. It's Rick and Grace from NY. Met you a couple years ago. Think it was on Neil's Lagoon Pub Crawl. Or it was following Gianfranco and Max from bar to bar. It all gets a little foggy!!! LOL The Great Bay Web Cam went down a few weeks before the hurricane. I do miss seeing it. Hope all is well in Paradise.

Used to enjoy clicking on this link every day and seeing Great Bay and the beautiful weather and the cruise ships in port. Whatever happened to this web cam?? Are there any others I could see?

We are coming to SXM Oct 4 for our usual Timeshare week. That being said, to answer someone above. I am not locked in. I can trade my weeks to many other locations. I can honestly say that we have never experienced crime nor felt threatened while on SXM. I spoke with Grace and if we feel uncomfortable in any way during this trip we would re-think 2009. I do hope that nothing happens because I

The best best would be Ric's Place in Simpson Bay. And it seems to me that the evil empire is now residing in MA.

The cruise ship will have excursions to a few places. Most people will say Orient Beach. I happen to think Oeient is too commercial. Dawn used to be nice until the Westin was built. If you do not want to do the excursion thing you can rent a car for the day and explore on your own. If you do not want to rent a car you can find a taxi at the pier and make arrangements to have them pick you up when

Lady C Floating Bar is a nice spot. The Wharf in Simpson Bay has music every night. The food is good too. People are always talking up Jimbos and Pineapple Petes for dinner but we have only been for lunch. Plenty of action in Maho. from Cheri's to Soprano's to Driftwood to Bliss and Bamboo Bernies.

We went to The Wharf in Simpson Bay a few times when we were down. They have a house duo that plays every night from 7 until 11. They were fun to listen to. I highly recommend The Wharf for drinks and a casual dinner. Lee's also has music every night but when we stopped by one night at 9 and asked to be seated to have drinks and listen the host was a bit rude. The restaurant was about 1/3

I did not play In October when we were there but I went to Mullet Bay Beach and walked down 16 and 17. Still looked as bad as ever. I did stop by to inquire the cost of playing and renting clubs and they told me $125. I left. I do agree that with some effort it could be a pretty course to play. I love the hole ,15 I think when you hit toward the Caribbean. Could be so pretty. Maybe one day. T
