Jerry Hertzenberg is asking $50 per week/unit to assist in this litigation. I don't think that is a unreasonable request. My understanding is that what the Sapphire and the others are doing (Special Assessment) is not legal. An attorney on island has been hired to represent the Sapphire Owners.

Interesting. What about AOL or Optonline customers? No responses from Sapphire either. Good excuse on their part. We haven't paid our regular Annual Maintenance or the Supplemental and haven't heard a word from them about either. We even were able to bank our weeks (2) with RCI.

We own 2 timeshare weeks at Sapphire. We got our Special Assessment and refuse to pay it. We also received our Annual Maintenance which we will pay. I do hope you join the bandwagon with Gerry H and sign up for the class action against the Sapphire in re to the Special Assessment. A lawyer has been retained. No $s asked as of yet but will 'donate' if necessary to fight this.

Louise....I suggested to Gerry that he try the TTOL website ( www.traveltalkonline.com ). I noticed that he posted on it today. Hopefully, we will be able to get more added to the list. We haven't paid the Special Assessment and don't intend to. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we can fight this atrocity. Seems more and more TS are requesting the Special Assessments.

Yes we banked our 2006 weeks (49/50)about 1 month before in Nov with RCI without any problem. We had not and will not pay the Special Assessment. We just got our regular Annual Maintenance which they say is not due until Feb 15. They are trying to use scare tactics by threatening forfeiting our weeks. I hope you and every Sapphire owner has e-mailed Jerry Hertzenberg to add your name to the litig

Gerry, Good luck on your visit to SXM and with the 'powers to be'. Please let us all know how you made out, we're all very anxious. We haven't heard a word from Sapphire about our non-payment of the special assessment nor have we gotten our regular annual maintenance bill which we usually have by now. This is going to be quite interesting.

According to the above link.... Small plane returning from St Bart's after dropping off 7 passengers, crashed or ditched near Caravanserai Resort. Several nearby boats rescued the pilot (only one of board).

That is pretty much what you're going to get. I've never seen a thorough map of the island with all the street names. We've gotten lost many a time but that is part of the St Maarten experience and adventure.

We banked our Sapphire 2006 wks (49/50) with RCI about a month ago with no problem. We have NOT paid the Supplemental Assessment Fee and have not heard anything from either Sapphire or RCI about it. Our 2007 Annual Maintenance Fee is due in January, of which we have not yet received. Friends of ours also have NOT paid the Supplemental Assessment and had no problem or mention of not paying the Ass

Kim, Jeff Berger,Stefan Fox (atty) and others are involved with the Atrium mess. No one has stepped up for the Sapphire except Jerry Hertzenberg. So if anyone is interested please contact Jerry so we can get back at the Sapphire en masse.

We've had both of ours up for sale since last year with 1) Sapphire and 2) a TS reseller. Paid them both $ and not even a nibble on either. Just goes to show how bad a rep the Sapphire has. We are biding our time with the Assessment Fees. There is a possible class action going on with the 3 resorts (Atrium, Pelican and Sapphire) regarding this 'illegal' assessment. True, SXM &#

What is everyone doing with there special asssessments. We have chosen NOT to pay it and let the 'chips fall where they may' at this time. Is there anyone who can get a class action started against the Sapphire for this Special Assessment? We recently banked our '06 weeks (49/50) with RCI and got a confirmation (indication that our Annual Maintenance was up to date) but nothing sa

We banked our 2 weeks (49/50) with RCI about 2 wks ago. They advised us that they will notify us if we are in arrears with our maintenance fees. We haven't heard anything from RCI as of yet regarding any 'late' fees. So maybe they don't even know about the 'special assessment' or aren't including it when they check.

Definitely keep copies of ALL correspondence to the Sapphire. They also have a habit of saying you didn't pay your Annual Maintenance Fee from 4-5 yrs ago and you have to prove it. They're a bunch of 'weasels'.

Just received our 'assessment'. It came in a plain white envelope, no return address or indication it was from Sapphire. Could have been junk mail for all we knew. Postmark from Puerto Rico as presorted standard mail. It could have easily been mistaken for our 'annual maintenance bill' except for the top heading saying it was the 'assessment'.

Peerhaps in the USA....remember this is St Maarten. Their laws are somewhat different than ours and it seems the TSer has NO rights in these matters.

What is going on in SXM? I own at Sapphire and they are also doing the same thing. Is it a conspiracy among these places? There must be a loophole somewhere since they all seem to be doing it now.

If you go over to traveltalkonline.com click on the SXM People talk at the top and you'll see a lot of talk going on over there about the assessment fees. Jeff Berger also has a site for timeshare owners especially for these assessments. Seems that the Pelican and Atrium are following Sapphires lead with these fees. Rumor has it that Sapphire is using the $$$ to offset another development i

We still have not gotten our 'letter' for the assessment and are still mulling over whether to pay it. Our weeks have been up for sale for almost a year with the Sapphire (useless) and with a TS reseller. We haven't gotten any feedback from either. Sapphire is well known for it's problems and we doubt we'll be able to sell them. The problems started long before Wyndham

It seems that the Sapphire Beach Club is sending out assessment notices asking for $$ (average is $2000) to it's timeshare owners for 'overhauling' the resort. This includes new furniture, painting units and exterior, new water system, upgrade pool area, more security, internet service, flatscreen TVs, etc. You would have thought that our annual maintenance fees would be covering t

We own 2 wks at Sapphire and as of today we have NOT received any notice of this. One is a villa and the other is in Bldg 3. I wonder if there is any kind of action we can all take. Saying we can forfeit our timeshare if we don't pay $ with such short notice? It's outrageous, but typical for the Sapphire.

This should be interesting. We haven't received ours yet. Is there anything we can do? Hold back $s and protest 'en masse'?

Basically any one of the Lolo's at the beaches are a sure bet for good food. Haven't heard any complaints about food poisoning, etc. I would stay away from the smaller ones that set up along the roadways ...the here today, gone tomorrow ones.

Funnybunny.....don't worry. The resort isn't as bad as it sounds. We own 2 wks at Sapphire in Dec. One is a Villa and the other is a Superior 1 bedroom in bldg 3. We've really haven't had any major problems and the ones we did have were corrected quickly. The grounds were maintained and our rooms were well maintained. The on site restaurant is A+.
