Those of us with fixed weeks at RP or where ever, prefer not to convert to points because we want to vacation for the particular week/s which we own. Why pay more (to covert to points) for something we already have? Buying on the secondary market can be much cheaper, that much I do agree with. If you are a person who wants to go to different resorts at different times, points might make sense.

It's not a bad idea. We're in distant places most of the time. It might be good to have a representative "on sight" at all times who is familiar with the local laws..

Royal Palm is a good family resort. The pool is fairly shallow, the beach, while not the nicest on the Island, is right next to the resort. The bridge openings are interesting (if it's working when you get there). Several nice beaches are fairly close to you. People swear by both sides of the island. You should rent a car and sample both.

200,000 for a generator? They're collecting 4 million? I'm sure the owners could finance these improvements over time. I don't own there, but I have seen some of the units. They've always been excellently maintained. Good luck.

As I read this, I can't help but think this is totally ignored by the police on both sides of the island. After more than 10 years of visits, I'm always amazed how fast the cars get opened and emptied. I would think a little surveillance would result in many arrests, if it was desired.
