Made a brief visit to this new restaurant which is located where the old Uncle Harry's used to be. They've done a major remodel and cleanup of the place. The general manager is Shawn. November4-18, 2012 Trip Report Flight: St Louis to Miami to SXM on AA . Slightly early on both legs going down. Return flight was a disaster. Upon checking in at SXM we were told that our plane to Miami would leave 55 minutes late. Since we only had an hour and thirty five minutes to make our original connection, that connection was null and void before we started. SXM rebooked us on the later

You could try dinner at Pineapple Pete's and then go next door to ESPN(not related to TV station). Pretty sure they have tv on most of night. Also Atlantis Casino has a tv room with many tv's. You can also put bets on game.

The Boy Scouts in the St Louis area have been video taping veterans talking about their war experiences. What's the chance some group could start doing the same things with older St Maarten residents? Perhaps a journalism class at high school or the college? Seems like it be a worthwhile project for a new country to remember their roots and history.

The DBC is the time share part of the Westin Resort. I'm sure they will want you to hear their spiel about buying a week. People I know have been totally turned-off by the presentation. I always thought that the camera was controlled by the company that built the Westin, Columbia Suslemonade, as per this link, I thought they were based in Tennessee. But you're correct that Westin is losing a great marketing tool with the present setting.
