Drinking age and casinos is, as mentioned, 18. There is a schedule for days the cruise ships will be in port. Suggest you go to www.traveltalkonline.com. Go to the St Maarten section. At top of page is heading for cruise ship schedules. We'll be there May 14-27. It's a great time to be in SXM.

OBBR is suppose to start conctruction in mid April, first tearing down the five remaining orginal buildings and replacing them with newer time share units. There also are suppose to put a 6 story condo building with 18 units right at the tip of the Oyster Bay Resort property. Pat, As mentioned, You decide when you checkin whether you want ac or not. If not, they switch off circuit breakers for ac. Would guess you could always change your choice after a day or two. Rooms that overlook Dawn Beach get the afternoon sun and really require AC. Marina view 1 and 2 bedroom rooms have a window(s) that allow for that cross breeze that you mention. AC might not be as important
