Tuesday at Cupecoy

If you are headed to Cupecoy on Tuesday, lets help Dany out and bring a garbage bag. Spend 15 minutes filling that bag with garbage from the roadside at the top of the cliffs. Leave the bag at the side of the road and Dany will pick it up and dispose of it properly.

Unfortunately the next two days will result in dirty beaches come Tuesday. No matter which beach you choose, bring a garbage bag (or two) and fill it up!

It's a beautifull day for the beach!

Bill did his weekly 3-4 bag pickup at Cupecoy yesterday, just to get a head start. I really have a hard time getting my mind around the fact that people can do this to their environment. confused smiley

Bill could do 10 and not get it all. Most of it "arrives" between sundown and sunup. Such a shame!

I went to run as I do every morning on the beautiful and pristine Galion Beach and I can tell you I am totlly disgusted!!!!!eye popping smiley I couldn't believe my eyes of what I saw and how much the beach was dirty, spoiled with empty bottle of alcohol, soda's canes, plastic cups, take away containers, condoms, lost flip flops, etc......confused smiley People are PIGS!!!!! alright there were hundred of people yesterday on Galion doing barbeque, partying and celebrating easter, but not ONE garbage bag!!!!!thumbs down
They have the most beautiful beaches in the world and they even don't know how to respect them! I am really disgusted that people can have so little regards for their own island!confused smileyangry smiley
Well I know what will be my mission tomorow....No jogging, but bring some garbage bags with me and clean the beach, because anyway,I know nobody else will do it! We do not have a St Maarten Pride Foundation on the French side...sad smiley
totally disgusted!!!!! confused smileysad smileythumbs downthumbs down

Philippe,

This is a heart-breaker to me every year. As much as we love to be there at Easter, I'm almost glad we weren't this year, having witnessed the mess last year on both sides of the island.

I'll never get it - some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and they're regarded with such a total lack of TLC. And sadly, this mess is created mainly by locals.

And to make matters even worse, it seems that with every year that passes it seems to get a little worse rather than better.

Respectfully,

pat
