Malaria

Hi, We are hoping to travel to St Maarten this summer. Mosquitoes love both my daughter ,son and myself. There is alot of ads on the radio right now encouraging people traveling to the Caribbean to take Malaria pills. I would prefer not to but wanted to know if St Maarten is one of the countries which is being affected with this problem. Also when is peak hurricane time?
Thanks
Ann

We do not have malaria here but we do have dengue. Dengue is affecting the entire Caribbean.
Malaria shots do NOT prevent dengue
check these links though for more information.
