Just got back Nov 14 had a great time; traffic was not bad at all.
We noticed that St Martins day the Dolphin Casino closed and did not re-open.
Does anybody have any news?

dolphin could not open st maarten's day because they are a stand alone casino. only casinos at hotels were allowed to open.
I do not know why they have not been open since then though.

I am not a casino person, but I have friends who come to sxm only for that and go to everysingle casino each day... During their last stay (it was a couple of month ago...) they told me that they thought Dolphin "behaviour" was odd. Reason why: they were paying the "gain" with "singles"... They said that also they were turned away by the staff at the table the day after making a big win... So again I am not a casino person and don't understand anything in gambling, and I don't know if and why it is closed now, I just felt necessary to post (LOL..)

Kind Regards,
Philippe

Hey Elaine,

What the heck is going on with Dolphin because I was at the UTS office today & they were open. I even saw some tourists (unlike us islanders) go inside. I have to go back to UTS tomorrow & I am going to get an answer to what is happening.

Very strange. The shutters were down on the front door. This was probably 9:30 am. There was someone up on a ladder doing something to the sign. All the letters were gone.

Time will tell!

I have been reading this blog about Dolphin Casino and I find it very interesting.
I got back a week ago and also noticed strange things going on. What is the latest?

My husband and I stay at the Pelican Residences and have stopped by the Dolphin often while there. We always thought they had run a nice casino, little buffets, very clean environment and friendly staff. I am dissapointed that they may have closed. We will be coming to the island on January 29th and, for sure, will miss stopping in for some table fun. Are there really gone? Please let us know. Thank you.

It seems to be open now. Don't know why it was closed for a few days.

Perhaps they were just renovating? I had my biggest win in that casino on the last night of my trip last fall. They asked if we could come back the next day to be paid. Of course, I told them we were leaving and they had to call the owner/manager to come in to pay us. Will be there next Friday night!
