To my cousin Mike - You and your brother, Donnie, were my favorite cousins. The memories of us playing in the woods in Seattle and your summer visits to Colorado and the State Fair will always bring smiles to my face. Mike, later in life when you moved your family to Colorado, I will always thank you for that. Your children and mine got to know and love each other with those same great memories. Your friends here have their own memories of playing softball and watching you play football with the Pueblo Crusaders. I can't believe you won't be walking in my kitchen to have Sunday spaghetti dinner again. Know that even though you could be a pain in the ass you were our pain in the ass and I would give anything to have one more good natured fight with you. Tim and I will always be here for your children because I know that would be important to you and because you would be here for ours. I love you and will always miss your smile and humor.

Matthew, please accept our heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
I came across this on the TravelTalkonline board addressed to your Uncle Joe and thought you might like to read it:

Quote

Joe,
Please let the entire Huttenlocker family know how sorry I am for their loss. My name is Popcorn and when Mike and Nina lived in Colorado we were friends. I am not good with the computer so I would appreciate you letting Nina and the boys know how sorry I am. I haven't seen any of them in years, but I have thought of them. God bless all of you.
Popcorn Madeo

God Bless Mike and his entire family!

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. In the years to come, you will have comfort in knowing your father left here doing what he loved doing.....flying.

Have a safe trip home.

Matt, Marc and the rest of the gang,

I just want you to know that your Dad (Big Mike) was a wonderful man and loved by all of us here in CO. We are all sadened that he was taken from us this way. It sounds like he was doing what he loved and had a passion for helping other people. I remember him always being there when one of us needed help, sometimes whether we wanted it or not. I still consider all of you very close friends and practically brothers.

Stay strong!
One Love,
Adam

To all,

First of all I would like to give my deepest condolences to the involved families and relatives.

I met Mike on 4 September 2008 when I had to fly back from Saba to Sint Maarten. Together with my colleague we had a very enjoyable time in his helicopter.
He took all the time to make pictures of us in front of and in the helicopter and he explained us everything of the helicopter and about flying in common.

It was a day I will never forget and therefore it is almost unbelievable that Mike isn't there anymore.

Mike, thanks for this beautiful day!

As a tribute to Mike I placed some pictures and a movie on my homepage:

Best regards,

Richard
