Renting a Jeep on the island and going off-road

Hi -

We will be visiting St Maarten for the first time in June. I was wondering if there are any places that rent jeeps and if there are off-road areas where you can take the jeep?

In the past we have done this in Aruba and there are some real nice spots on the rough side of the island (but you need a 4x4 to get there).

Is St Maarten similar? If so, any specific rental agency to go to?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.
Pete

No off-road areas on SXM.

What kind of jeep or 4 x 4 will Alain Arnell rent to you. Is it a hard top or soft top?

ok so there are a few places you can do this but I am not so sure Paradise Peak in one. Not su sure I'd go to Paradise Peak at all these days. If you want to try some offroading, theres an area on the French side heading towards the dump and some of those hidden beaches that might be worth doing.
