Elaine,

Just curious about your response - why would topless sun bathing be an issue at LaSamanna? It's on the French side of the island and I thought ALL French beaches were okay with that.

Pat - I'm not positive, but I thougt I read a trip report somewhere when they tried it and the LS folks got pissed off and they had to cover up.

Elaine,

Well, on SXM nothing surprises me anymore. You're probably correct but it just comes as a surprise to me since most of the more up-scale places (or those that think they are??) generally tend to be a bit more liberal in things of this nature. I never thought it would be an issue on a French beach, not even at LS.

I have even seen a couple of topless woman at the Pelican over the last couple of years which is really rare

I saw a Robin on the beach at Maho. Not the bird kind either. And, get this.....she was topless (gasp,gasp)

Don't go to SXM. All beaches will have topless women. Sorry.
Go to a British or formerly British island.
