"Prude" beach?

Hello all - newbie question here. I'll be stopping in port in March on Spring Break with my wife and daughter. We've done the regatta (3x), and would like to just hang out on a beach this time - but we have a strong preference to not visit a nude/topless beach. I'm not passing judgment on it (so please show the same courtesy), it's just that we prefer discretion.

Are there any beaches on the island where we can be pretty confident we won't see any nude/topless sunbathers? I appreciate any help.

stay on the Dutch side and either go to the beach at Great Bay or maybe go to Divi Little Bay Hotel and swim there.
You will not see nudity or topless sun bathers there or at any beach close to a hotel.
Another possibility is Dawn Beach about 20 minutes away from town . nice beach..eat lunch at Mr. Busby's..

Not entirely true. We've been going to Divi at least once a year for 12 years. Though not the norm, we have seen topless there fairly often.

I have also occasionally seen topless at the beach at Royal Islander la Plage. Our son and his family are coming with us in March and don't want to go to nude or topless beaches, but I suspect they are going to be taking their chances wherever they go. People seem to be doing what they can get away with lately.

Boy, I guess so! Once upon a time, you never would have seen topless at any of the hotels on the Dutch side.

tHe thing is, its not the rule its the exception. At the hotels beaches topless is still frowned on and if anyone complains they will say something to you. This I know is fact. And it is embarrassing.

If you dont want to see boobs, don't go to St Maarten, I have seen them on ALL beaches. Its just a boob for crying out loud. Get over it.

OP asked a simple question. He has a right to feel how he feels. Get over your selves.

Thank you. I personally could care less, it has more to do with the fact that I'm taking my teenage daughter. I'll spare you all the rationale why I have an issue with topless beaches where she's concerned - which I don't feel obligated to justify anyway - if you'll all spare me your "boob condescension" - fair enough?

no one here has to explain their point of view. Please ignore those who try to ridicule and criticize.

I think you are safe on the dutch side regardless of what people say.
You may have to spend several days at a Great Bay there before seeing a single boob bounce by.
Each to there own I guess.

I have a teenage daughter too..... and our favourite "popular" beach was Orient Bay.
She did voice her disaproval at first saying "OH...... Gross" when some older lady walked by, but soon learned that it was no big deal.
I saw the sign at Maho Beach (Sunset Beach Bar) "topless women drink free"
Time to push the envelope!
I dared my wife to do it for a couple of free drinks but my daughter was starting to freak out so we couldn't.
It was mostly a joke, intended to get a reaction, I think its very important our kids see we have an open minds.

My husband and I go to the beach in front of the Holland House in Phillipsburg.
It's handy to everything and you can rent chairs for the day, plenty of food,
activities etc. I have only seen a few topless in 7 years so you should be OK.
They have a restaurant, bar and you can use their bathrooms, plus the shopping is right there.

i have the opposite question after reading ANAN's comment regarding the embarassment of being told to put your top on. we are going in may and my wife has been listening to my encouragement and is ready to go topless. if she were told to get dressed she would be very distressed. does anyone know if alamanda or la samana allow topless at their beaches?? thanks in advance
