Scuba

Hi! I would appreciate any Scuba Shop recommendations that anyone has. Price isn't the most important thing, but proximity to my hotel and/or dive locations is important as well as fun and friendly staff and nice rental equipment.

I'm staying first at the Westin on Dawn Beach for a few days until I move to another hotel...not sure which one(s) yet. Any suggestions on hotels are also welcome.

I'll be coming in Saturday the 29th for 10 days.

Thanks for any answer.

Paul

I recommend Dive Adventures, out of the Pelican Marina.

I've used Dive Adventures for the last seven years and they are the people to use. Dive safaries seem to be a little crowded on the dock before you leave plus the boat configuration is crowded and not comfortable for diving. Dive safaries in Bobbys Marina cater to a lot of cruise ship clientel and parking is not great. All the staff at Dive Adventures are super friendly and knowlegable. They all go to the same dive sights. I would only use Dive Safaries for the shark dive which was awsome but there again you have to wait on the dock forever because they woun't let you board the boat untill it's time to leave and your back is forced to rest with your tank and BCD behind you pluss being crammed next to another diver with the same proplem. More room to do your own thing on the Dive Adventures boats and Dock.

I too recommend Dive Adventures at the Pelican marina. We've used them for the past 3 years and they are very professional. They are much cheaper than Dive Safari's and you won't get stuck with the cruise ship crowd. Mano or Jeff are good dive masters and Vinny, the shop manager runs a tight ship. They dive many different sights and take the effort to make sure you don't repeat a location unless you want to. Give them a try you'll be happy.

The OP asked for close proximity to his hotel..the Westin.
