Paradise Peak

Need info on Paradise Peak, Is it on the Dutch or French side ? Can you drive to it or do you have to hike to it.Any info would be helpful.

It is on the French Side and never, ever go up there alone.

You can drive to the top, and then hike out and see beautiful views of the island. It is quite remote, and that is why Annie has suggested that you not go there alone. Two years ago, my husband and I did that, not having heard that we shouldn't, and did not have any problems; but I must say that I was uncomfortable as it is so remote, and if anyone had attacked us we would have been toast.

And there were lots of reports of banditos brandishing machetes back a year or so ago and car break ins to. I have done it but not so sure I would today with the everincreasing problems on the island. Just don't think the great view would justify the other potential possibilities. If you want a nice view thats a little more explored hike to the fort at the top of Marigot. Not quite as high but still a nice view and far fewer reports of incendences there.
