Kid Friendly Restaurants

Going to the Dutch side of St. Maarten next week. Looking for kid friendly restaurants. My boys are 12 and 9.

There are many kid-friendly restaurants on the Dutch side. Lee's and the Boathouse in Simpson Bay are fun (often with live music), Turtle Pier near the airport has very good ribs. But our favorite casual place for GREAT food is Pizza Pasta, a small pizzeria/Italian restaurant in Maho. It is located just behing Casino Royale and Cheri's.

After dinner, you can walk a couple doors down to Haagen Dazs for dessert, and sit outside and listen to the live music from Cheri's (mediocre food,in my opinion) for a little while. Enjoy!

Thinking of taking a sailing vacation with Festiva Sailing Vacations. Any opinions?

Most of the restaurants are fine for kids that age. Most have children's menus. We will have our grandchildren (12 & 9) with us in March and plan to take them to Peg Leg, Pineapple Petes, Pizza Pasta, La Rosa Too, and maybe Spiga and LeMontematre. All of these restaurants either have kids menus or we have seen children there many times.

hollie
you really should start your own thread for your question rather than hijack someone else's thread.
However, I will briefly answer you.
I have friends who have sailed with Festiva and they enjoyed both their trips

seaisle,

We often travel to the island with family and our grandchildren have always enjoyed an evening at Turtle Pier - they like the animals outside as you enter and the boats once inside looking out at the dock, as well as the music and the atmosphere in general. There is enough variety on the menu that they can always find something they enjoy and it's reasonably priced. From my own perspective, I sometimes get a little frustrated with the service there but it can be excellent or verrrrrrrry slooooooooooow depending on the night.

Another major hit with the kids is Cheris at Maho (which I personally hate but it's amazing what we will do for those grandkids, isn't it?) and if you're lucky and plan it right, you might get to finish dinner and their show just in time to catch the street dancers from the casino show.

Respectfully,

pat
:-) :-)
