Yes, it is in full operation. Very nice, but I miss the plane doors opening to bright sunshine and tropical heat!

Nice, modern airport, but it does loose the small island feel. No calypso band in the arrival area either. Departure are is nice. open and plenty of windows to watch the activity around the runway.

Enjoy

Having been here for 22 years, I kinda miss the old airport and its charm but, unlike many, most of the time I spend at the airport is waiting for people to arrive and I have to tell you, the waiting process is much easier and infinitely more comfortable at the new one. More eateries, air conditioning, etc. I think they should have put in more (or some) seating in the waiting area (God knows they have the space). Maybe it's a deal they have with the eateries to push you to sit and eat. It is a bit more of a shlep to and from the parking lot but Hey. Give a little, Get a lot.

Does anyone know if you can buy liquor at the airport in St. Martin after the security check so you can carry it on the plane back to the U.S. - If so how do the prices compare to those on front street.

Thanks

You can purchase after security. The problem is getting it home. If you have a direct flight to anywhere other than Atlanta I think, you will be fine. If not, you will have to pack it in your checked bag.

you can purchase in the airport after security and carry it on IF you have a direct flight. If you have to change planes you will have to pack it in checked luggage for the second portion of your trip.

i know the liquer in the airport is a little more expensive than townbut perhaps being able to carry it on and not worry about breakage is worth the extra few dollar
