According to the above link....
Small plane returning from St Bart's after dropping off 7 passengers, crashed or ditched near Caravanserai Resort. Several nearby boats rescued the pilot (only one of board).

Was at the Royal Islander. Didn't see actual crash, but saw aftermath about 10 mins. later. Strange thing was that there was never a police boat, etc. out there in the water. The police and fire dept. seemed to stand on the shore by Sunset Beach Bar and watch. There were just 2 or 3 small boats near the crash spot. Very shortly after the rescue, those 2 boats left the scene, and all you saw was the beautiful aqua sea. Would never know anything happened out there.

Hi,
The Fire Dept does NOT have a rescue boat. The pilot was rescued by a Rhino Rider Guide that was going by, then taken to the Lambada.
Do not know why the Police Boat was not there and we will never find out.
Cheers

Pilot was rescued MINUTES after the crash, no need for anything more.

Anyone have information about a commercial plane that left St. Martin on or about February 26, lost power in one of two engines and was forced to land in Curacao and then lost a wing on landing ?

Cheers
