Spike,

Gee, I forgot all about the sliders.....I hadn't considered them to be a maintenance issue - I just assumed I was getting older and weaker and that was where the problem was. LOL

Respectfully,

pat

We purchased timeshare resales in the states about 15 years ago when our children were young and we've never regreted it. Our family saved a lot of money and traded for visits all over the country.

Just 5 years ago we purchased resales at the Pelican because we were tired of paying top dollar for high season rates in the Caribbean. We absolutely love going to St. Martin each winter and are thrilled that we bought. Buy a resale from an individual owner for the best prices.

Me and my husband have owned in st.maarten for the last 15 years and we have never regretted it.We own a week in the Towers at Mullet Bay and we also own 2 weeks at the Royal Palm.We own a fixed week at both places(not the point system)and thois works out well because we have gone at different times of the year and have never had a problem when we wanted to do an in-house exchange. We are also thinking of selling a week.

The best and only way to get a timeshare is on the resale market. It is also the only way you can get a "Fixed" week which is important in a "destination specific" purchase. All the Resorts are now selling "points" programs which are great if you're buying a timeshare in Wisconsin but if you want to be assured of a particular unit in a particular week with no hassles or rigmarole, get a fixed one and there are plenty available at far lower prices than what are being asked by the Resorts for points.

ZebraBot.com publishes the Pelican Resort Owners Newsletter on a bi-weekly basis and this has many of the timeshare units listed for sale or rental.Just scroll down the articles and you'll find the most recent one.
