What clothes to pack for evenings?

Hi again,

Is there a cool sea breeze in the evening? I get cold really easy. Do I need to pack long sleeves for evenings? I'm sure it won't be a huge problem because I have read that the shopping is great in Phillipsburg.

Do you have any other pointers because I'm moving to St Maarten indefinately.

Thanks
Kellie

Bring A few long sleeves or light sweater(s). It can get "chilly" at night for those that have thier blood thinned by that hot Caribbean sun.

(Alternative Method): Drink LOTS of rum. You won't care if it's hot or cold.

DONT STOP THE CARNIVAL !!
KIPP n SLIPP

Hi Kellie,

I had the same question when I was packing for our first trip to St. Martin. I never used any of my long sleeve shirts/sweaters or long pants for that matter. By our third trip, I didn't even bother to pack any jackets or light sweaters. I haven't found the evening breezes to be much cooler than the daytime breezes. We always go in April/May, so maybe it's a little cooler in other months.

Kipp&Slipp,

I think I like your alternate suggestion best of all.

In January or February I find I need just a light coverup in the evenings. A light cotton long sleeve blouse or jacket stays in the car just in case. May or August, I don't bring it.

in oct-nov i never have needed long sleeves/pants either. I bring a light weight cashmere hoody (that I wear on the plane, to and from) but never had worn it once on the island.
