Can anyone tell me anythong about Yvette's in Orleans? Heard somewhere about it being decent inexpensive island food, but can't find any specific info on the web.
Thanks.

Had take out buffet on Valentines Day. Was great. Goat, fish, ham, chicken, all the surrounding support items too. The atmosphere is really nice too, local and caribbean. They gave a rose to every woman too. Nice folks. Recommend highly.

MCcude,

After finding Yvettes for the firsr time, it is always on our list. Family run in an addition to the house. Yvette died a few years ago, but Felix and daughters are doing just fine. He used to be a chef at Mullet.

Use the Search feature just under the banner for Yvettes in topics, bodies all dates and you'll get lots of info, especially helpful are the directions.

By all means go.

Agree with everyone. Yvette's is a gem, excellent food and service. Very friendly atmosphere. And the price is great!

Get to Orleans and find the Gess gas station, on the hill side of town. It is on your left if coming from P'burg on the central road and your right if coming from Orient. If you take the "scenic coastal road" from P'burg by Oyster Bay you'll need to turn left when you hit the main street in Orleans. Start looking for the station on the right. A small sign is by the road just before the station, take a right and look for a house with a sign on it, also on your right. Park just by it off the street. Enjoy.

My husband and I have been going to St. Martin for the last 11 years... and over that time, we have never missed dining at Yvettes.
Felix, Josephine, who is Yvette's daughter-in-law and Felix neice are like family to us...
Over a 3-week period - we average 10 meals at their establishment.
The greatest local Creole food on the Island!

We are glad that Yvette's is still serving its excellent cuisine, although sad to hear of her passing. We will be going to dine there in April '06.

Are there any other restaurants that compare to Yvettes on the island food and pricewise?

Is the food spicy here? Looking for something local and good, but don't want to try it if its a dump.
