get wet beach bar

We are coming in to SXM on Thursday...tried to e-mail the GET WET bar in P'burg with no luck...Anyone know if they still have live music on Sunday evenings??

Thanks and any word on any Hurricane possible soon?

Where is the Get Wet Beach Bar? I am not familiar with that establishment.
You might want to try SunSet Beach Bar for bands. If you want to get wet at the Beach Bar, Buccaneer Beach Bar is fantastic for that.

I have not read any where that Get Wet has changed anything in their format.

Az Guy, Get Wet is in Philipsburg. It's on the boardwalk near Passanggrahan Hotel. It used to be called Olgie's Perogies!

The get wet is not that great the guy that runs it is very rude SXM has far better places

Sorry to hear about a rude person working at Get Wet Beach Bar. A Canadian couple who are very nice bought it several years ago...they considered naming it "Phil and Lynne's Bar". I talked them into the name "Get Wet". My wife and I returned in July, but the construction downtown prevented us from seeing them. Does anyone know if the Canadians are still the owners?

yes, they are.
my friends hang out there all the time when they are visiting us. They love it there..never said anything about rude people.
and I think they still have music on Sundays too.

Thanks Barbara! Unfortunately owners are always held responsible for rude employees and they can't be there 24/7. Phil and Capt Dave are almost always on the customer side of the bar, so visitors introduce yourself. Nice guys. Cheap prices and live music on Sunday. Remember ladies, Get Wet! for the best location on the Philipsburg waterfront. Drop off your husband and go shopping! Eh?

Last night my husband and I returned to Manhattan after 5 weeks in St. Maarten. We were at the "Get Wet" almost every day. It is a great bar that has friendly Canadian owners and staff. Everyone is made to feel like "family" (lots of kidding around but NO rudeness). There is music on Sundays. The bar is located on the beach boardwalk bet. the St. Rose Arcade & Passagrahan Guest House. There's a big Heineken sign and a Canadian flag so it can't be missed. If you get there send regards from Fran & Dick.

I lived in St. Maarten in 2005-2006 and the only time Phil is ever rude to people is when people are rude to him. That seems fair enough to me. Whenever Captain Mike and I were drinking there we'd have a little bet to see how many people said 'please' or 'thank you' within an hour. It rarely got to double figures. Says it all !

Love the place and hope to be back within the next year for a visit. Love to all at the bar, especially Weezer, from the wine-drinking ('cos you ran out of cider) Irish drunk. Paddles.
