Can think of many SXM locations where this would be VERY frightening.....good shots from your balcony and those glimpses of Mullet southward clearly depict the wind and surf force....THANKS E !

Saw your also B.

I have not been able to get to my balcony all day with the shutters down. When the wind changed from off the Lagoon to off the Sea, I was able to go out the front door and walk around on the walkways and stairwells without getting blown away.

I may try again in a little bit, if for no reason other than to get away from this noise!

The official medicinal cure all for pre/during/apres hurricanes is Rum.....also good for clean up party punch and mouthwash after PM naps....dose until you don't hear the wind or give a crap...whichever comes first ! Leave a bit of space for web browsing just to let us know you're OK ....

Actually according to what I heard on the French radio during the storm (and if we look at the history track of the storm they say the same thing) Earl reach Cat. 3 by 11 am while north of us, and by 3pm it reach cat4... and even though by 3pm it was already far away, do you all remember the sudden intensity of the wind at that time?

that's exactly when he passed cat3 and cat4... For us, fortunately the wind were coming from the south west so we were extremely protected and we spend the whole hurricane sit on our terrace next to the pool facing the ocean... lucky this time!
