I received an e-mail from them yesterday. They had some damage to the beach from the high seas and lost both power and water, other than that, they are up and running. I really don't know about the power situation right now, but they did not state any other problems. We will be there in 4 weeks and are looking forward to this trip!

Has anyone heard if MarysBoon has had any damage? We are scheduled to stay there in 4 weeks and have not read anything about the hotel as yet. I tried e-mail but no response. Thanks.

Wow! I remember wrong way Lenny. We were in the BVI when he hit. Although there was not much damage there, I could not believe my eyes when I saw the damage that was done in SXM. Be safe all you wonderful people in SXM!

John, We have also been to the D.R. a few years ago A/I of course. We did not encounter any problems but been there, done that. We also have been to Jamaica a few times, A/I also but never felt unsafe, We take a cab out for dinner, excursions and have been fine. We have visited almost every island in the Caribbean, with many repeats to our favorites. We had a few incidents with locals (teenagers)
