Yes, it is funny. But I think you have to remember that this island has a great cosmopoltan mix. Cruise ship visitors are greatly welcomed. As are every other visitor. It's a bit like the argument between a "traveller" and a "tourist". Imho everyone makes a contribution. All are welcomed. There is no need to be unkind to anyone. Keala

Everyone's comments just illustrate why every restaurant review should be dated. Many sites don't provide a date. Keala

Re books - the supermarkets tend to have mainly the latest US bestsellers - there is nothing like the bookshops in the UK. A lot of residents order books and cds in from Amazon or an online service like that. The public library on the Dutch side is really very good for an island this size - I have always found plenty to read there & every so often they have a second hand book sale. As P

(get there early evening to get a seat right at the front on the terrace). The barman does great mojitos. We really enjoyed the dinner we h

I love the pic of the head of town. Barbara, what is the history of the big old house which is still there - the one which is currently beside the Vineyard Building and which can be seen in your photo. Thanks Keala

Galion Beach is perfect for kids - the water is shallow there, you can rent chairs and umbrellas if you wish. Why not bring a picnic - the baguette from the French side is excellent and you will be able to pickup tasty salads, cheeses etc from any supermarket. There is a beach restaurant at Galion - I'm sure you could get a nice salad there also. Keala
