Would you elaborate on "Not too expensive"? Is it cheaper than the island rental phone rates of 30-cents a minute to the states? Thanks.

As you can see from the aforementioned Landings link, it's pretty dead around the dinner hours of 6-9, for better or worse. I've been disappointed over the years because that's the timeframe when I'm ready to kick back, drink and watch the fun. Oh well. I can still kick back and drink, anyway.

We spent 4th of July week at Hotel Beach Plaza in Marigot. I'll make this a combination "Trip Report" and response to your question: This was my third visit to St. Martin, and the first time I stayed on the French half of the island. The only reason I chose to stay at this hotel on the French side was because it was part of a very inexpensive package deal offered online. As a

Michael, The water trampolines are still at Orient. There are at least two that I can recall from earlier this month when we were there. Cost is $5/hr or $10/day on one. Not sure about the other(s). If your teen boys are anything like mine, suggest you hit one of the (Dutch Side) grocery stores as soon as you get to the island. The boys seldom stopped eating... especially late at night. Go

Just returned. The water trampoline prices at Orient are $5/hr or $10/day. Gym memberships seem to run $8-$10/day or $35-$50/week per person. Did not try parasailing, wind surfing, zip lines, hiking, or wave runners. ~Andy

Sorry, I meant "wind surfing instructor". I've done neither and was considering wind surfing. Noticed there are several small companies offering lessons and such. Thanks.

Will be in SXM next week and would like to try parasailing. Who and Where is recommendable? Any idea of the cost? Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sounds like there's lots of affordable dinner eats, if you know where to look! Will be there Saturday. Can't wait!

Will be staying at the Hotel Beach Plaza next week. Read somewhere (not here) that I might need to bring power converters. Is that true? My previous two trips I stayed on the Dutch side where no converters are needed. Also, does the Hotel Beach Plaza have washers and dryers for guest use? If not, any suggestions for a nearby laundromat? What type currency do the machines take? Thanks!

For decent snorkeling, you need to go to the calmer water areas. Most of the beaches are a little too choppy to see a lot (though you do see somethings). To see the most fish, sea urchins, conchs, etc., suggest you visit Pinel Island and/or take a half-day sailing trip that includes snorkeling stops.
