Yes Verizon does work well on the Dutch side. Expensive but does work. I found no signal when at Friars Bay so I guess it's spotty at best when on the French side. Also, when using Verizon, you will get some annoying recorded calls from Curacao but I just didn't answer my phone until I knew who the caller was. Glad you had a good trip! Everyone keeps talking about Thabba Kaddy but are the foods spicy and/or exotic? Hubby is a meat and potato kind of guy and I'm sure he would be put off by the menu if this were the case. In other words, does a person have to have a wide range of palette to enjoy the food there? Thanks for the report.

The only place I know of in the general vicinity that has Free WiFi is in and around the Sunset Beach Bar but I am sure there is some sort of internet connection around the Towers as well. It may not be WiFi but certainly internet access. There are many vantage points around the island (like at some restaurants in Simpson Bay) but the Sunset Beach Bar is the most easily accessible from the Towe

Since you are in line with the Lowlands Route, there is a gym at the Rainbow Beach Club in Cupecoy (just past the Sapphire). I have seen the gym and it is very well equipped with everything to work out. When you pass by there, stop at the front desk and ask how much they charge for day rates.

Have heard that both are very nice and well kept. Petit is more of a boutique hotel located on a beach and is pretty secluded but is right near the Grand Case restaurants. If you're looking to meet many people staying at the same place, Petit is not the place. The hotel does not hold many guests. It's a good midpoint between the Dutch side and the French side. Alamanda is nice for me

Hi everyone.... I just checked my rental car form from this past year and the tax for the rental said 5%. Not sure if this was an old form they were using because they included the tax so I cannot verify but that's what the form said.... Hope this helps.
