thank you everybody, I found the recipe in a cookbook called Barefoot in Paris by Ina Gartner. It's full of gruyere and parmesan, and of course ham. Then dipped in the cheese and sauted. Can you feel your arteries clogging, but like you said, what a way to go.! Again, thanks.

Bonjour, my husband and I have just returned from a few weeks in France, where we fell in love with this lovely little snack, Croque Monsieur. I can't wait to eat it again, hopefully this Christmas in St.Martin. Does anybody know where we might find it, perhaps a bar/cafe in Marigot? thanks Carol
