If driving past airport, must be lagoon. This picture is from late 70's. I only remember sand and water. And the old mystery sailboat that everyone had a story about who left it to weather away.

This picture was taken like if you are turning your back to "Topper's" and facing "Skip Jack" or the "Boat house" now.... Snoopy Island on the left, now where the Marina Isle del sol is... and Mont Fortune in the background!!! wow.... this is beautiful! wow, great picture! I can barely remember when Simpson Bay looked like this. This was just about the time I started my SXM love affair. cool smiley

Barbara, that's the sort of picture I meant. Simpson Bay area wasn't anything like it is today, as you well know, and was filled in with 'stuff'! I remember boats, cars, trash and the like which created the 'landfill'. I saw it being done on several occasions. That isn't a bad thing.....lots of the island was filled in. I remember staying at Pt.Piroutte in the early 80's and there was a rather famous expose because some villas were built on 're-claimed' land....fill.
In fact, I remember some people arrested because of this. Remember?
