Tipping/"service charges"

In reading the forum i've found references to service charges added to restaurant bills. Is this the gratuity in which case you don't leave an additional tip? I've read on one site that gratuity is added to your bill automatically on French side as in Europe while on Dutch side standard American tipping is the norm. Is this correct? It's all a bit confusing if(as with me) you've never visited St Martin before.

Dont worry. Its confusing if you have been there to.
Your probly gonna get a lot of diffrent answers but fars I'm concerned if they add it in on the Dutch side then thats all your obligated to tip. But if you want to tip more for particularly good service go for it. French side anybodies guess.
