Kiamesha Lake near Monticello in the southern Catskills... the "Borscht belt".. Mr Parker was the son of Clara and Raymond Parker who owned the Concord Resort Hotel there... (Not too far from my former house in the Catskills) we will pass on the "bankruptcy saga" of this NY resort, stayed closed and abandonned for years, sounds like a "Catskills Mullet Bay" ! Sounds familiar???







I beleive it's being demolished now, to be rebuilt new with a casino! It's owned by the same owner of the Monticello raceway now...

I was up there in April (in Liberty) and it is still standing (most windows broken of course) The only thing still operating is the golf course (The blue monster) That whole area is very sad to look at. There are slot machines at Monticello race track but nothing else has been developed as far as casinos. They keep talking about it. So many good restaurants are closed. The only thing that area is good for now is hunting.

Many tourists discovered traveling to the carib islands during the 70's & 80's instead of staying in those hotels.We used to vacation at some of the other known hotels during the 50's & 60's.Air travel became available to more people and a younger crowd didn't want the same style of vacations as their parents enjoyed.When we were ready for our real first vacation in Feb. 78. We asked a travel agent which carib island was best.She stated SXM and stay at Little Bay Beach Hotel.

The last I heard, they are turning into casinos.

That's the same old story similar to the Jersey Playboy Club was setup and waiting for casino's.Most of the Reservations have casino's I doubt those old hotels will ever have gambling.
