"Toes in the Sand" Restaurants

Hi,

I know the restaurant scene has been beaten to death, BUT (lol), can anyone recommend restuarants on the Dutch and French side where you can dine on the beach.

I'm talking about nice restuarants (not like the beach bars) where tables are set up on a deck overlooking the ocean. The kind where you can walk over and literally put your "toes in the sand".

This forum is the best!!!

We've always liked Passanggrahan on Front St. Don't know if they still offer it, but the calamaria steak is excellent. Here is link to their website. Scroll down a little and you can see the restaurant side of the building - right on the beach, just a few steps away:

There are many restaurants in Grand Case on the ocean side that overlook the beach and water - also I have heard good things about Marys Boon behind the airport but have not tried it myself.

I would vote for Kakao although technically it is a "beach bar". You can Google it to go to their web site.

our favorite is layla's just before the bridge going into marigot (near mario's) nice size bar and tables are in the sand but under a roof. food is great and so are the people-great view even a boat on the beach wrecked in a hurricane several years ago. not too expensive and big portions
