I just found this forum. What a great bunch of folks here. We will be headed to St Martin for our second time in October. Any info on Oyster Bay Beach Resort would be very helpful. Tips, Do's/Dont's Highlights would be great. Thanks.

I believe I may have read your post on another forum regarding St. Martin/St. Maarten and the crime issues there. I can only tell you, my family has been visiting the island for 34 years, at least once annually, and we've never personally had a problem on any of our trips.

We exercise about the same caution we would when travelling anywhere - we leave nothing in our rental cars not even in the trunk out of sight; we don't carry a lot of cash and use traveler's checks for the most part and we leave the more expensive jewelry and personal belongings at home.

As for the camera, well, depending on the beaches you're frequenting, it often pays to strike up a conversation with your near neighbors and generally speaking, they're usually agreeable to keeping an eye on things while you're in the water and you can do the same for them.

Since you've already been once, I'm sure you have a pretty good idea of where to go and what to see so I can only add, ENJOY!!
