Pelican Resort

I recently called the Pelican Resort to inquire about availability during the month of October. They have two studios (bay view and ocean view) in the Croton and Beaumontia buildings. Since I have never stayed there, can anyone give me comments on these two buildings, good or bad.

Thanks,
Mary

Mary! Do NOT stay in the Croton Building. I was there in June. It sucks.
The view would be decent is it weren't for the green fencing blocking it. Oh and the crane isn't that great to look at either. Stay in the other building really!

We stayed at the Pelican in June -- Building B -- and found it to be very nice, indeed! Down by the marina area, there's good snorkling and a pretty little beach. Our particular unit didn't get the ocean view, which would've been nice. But, then, we didn't spend that much time in the room.

And if you like scuba diving, I strongly recommend the dive outfit in the Pelican marina! Can't remember the name, but they run a very safe and fun boat. Enjoy!

We were there for two long weeks in Jan. 06. The upper section above the registration building had a terrible water problem. Like none. The toilets did not flush for hours on end. We weren't in the resort much but that really was a problem. It was the same three years earlier. What's up with that. The front desk people said wait and it will work later.

The toilets are on a unique and very old-fashioned air suction/vacuum system. When the air pressure is down...don't expect a flush. If the place is full or near capacity, and a lot of flushing is going on ...like in the AM...forget it...and try later. This was our experience back in 2000. Have upgrades occured...very possibly. spike
