We stayed at the Maho last New Years, we were put in a newly renovated room on the 8th floor. It was very very nice...king size bed, very nice furniture [table and chairs, desk, TV armour and dresser]. The area is pretty safe at night....there are security guards at both the hotel and timeshare, also at the casino and positioned at the jewelry stores. It's well lit and it's usually pretty busy into the late hours.
