Visa for stay over 3 months / french-side?

I am looking to bring my sailboat to St. Martin, and possibly staying at Ft. Louis Marina for up to 6 months. Yes, I'd be leaving with the boat occassioanlly to cruise to other islands, but plan on basing myself out of Ft. Louis Marina.

I am a U.S. citizen, and the boat is U.S. flagged.
I understand tourists are only allowed to stay on island for up to 3 months. Is there a way for me to get a visa to stay for up to 6 months?

Thanks for your help.

Yes.. you need to apply for a long term visa with a French Consulate in the USA... You have one in NY, Washington, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, San Fransisco, Atlanta, Houston and Miami...

Kind Regards,
Philippe
