It depends on when in November you will be traveling. If it's early November, there is a very slight chance that you may encounter a tropical storm or hurricane. It has happened so this must be stated. Otherwise, consider 85 degrees during the day, 79 at night and a few passing rains during the day or night that don't last long.

If you are arriving the end of November into December, your chances are that the weather will be just perfect. This is just as the Christmas winds begin but the winds are not as strong as what you would encounter now, at least on the Dutch side. I have heard that the French side sometimes does get stronger gusts. You will have 85 degree weather almost every day and about 79 degree weather at night. You may have passing rains but for us they have only lasted 5 minutes during the day and maybe a slight damping at night. This past December it did rain almost every night but nothing close to a downpour. Usually just passing intermitent rains.

Our first time to SXM was in November to celebrate an anniversary. We were hit with torrential rains that lasted 1 week with unbelievable flooding all over, sun came out as we were on our way to the airport. Said never again, asked the locals what month is the best time to visit. They all said MAY. Well we went in May and it was just beautiful and went again in Nov. just to take a chance, and it was beautiful weather. Have been going ever since in Nov. and May and in between whenever we get the chance!

Mark and Donna,

Our very first St. Maarten vacation was made the first week of November, 1973. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven - the weather couldn't have been anymore perfect. Or so I thought. Since then we've gone back countless times and while our first preference in SXM will probably always be mid to late April, we've found November to always have been perfect for us, too. And then again, we've come to enjoy March on the island and never experienced any bad weather then either.

Almost any time you choose to spend in Paradise is perfect, as long as Mother Nature doesn't decide to throw you a curve and if she does, well, you know what they say - you just can't control Mother Nature. We've gone in September and October and had great weather but we've also known some pretty nasty storms to blow through in those months, too.

The law of averages should probably be a given that November is a relatively safe month, weather wise and the later in the month the better it's apt to be.

Good luck and have a wonderful trip.

Respectfully,

pat
