Question about beaches

Thanks again for all of the amazingly helpful information everyone provided regarding my previous general questions.

BEACHES:

Again, my girlfriend and I are about 30, staying in the Atrium Resort and arriving Thursday.

I am trying to figure out how many beaches on the Island permit nude sunbathing.

We have read about Orient Beach....we aren't nudists. We are considering nude sunbathing though. Can anyone give us the rundown of the beaches and what they tolerate?

Thanks in advance!!

Orient is the only beach on the island where nude sunbathing is officially legal. It's my understanding, though I have no personal experience with this, that there are others on the French side where nudity is accepted. I believe Cupecoy and Baie Rouge are two of these. I'm sure others will chime in with more reliable information. Not all of Orient is nude, so you can go there and stay in the clothed areas while deciding whether you want to try the nude experience. Even the Club Orient area is only "clothing optional", so you would be perfectly fine there clothed or not.

Orient is THE NUDE BEACH and evem then only at the CLUB O area tho there will be still be nude beach walkers in the early am and later afternoon pm time. This is the nude beach.
Cupcoy is on the Dutch side and is tolerated there as the only officially unofficial but tolerated Dutchside nude beach but beware of bushwhackers and very strong currents some days as well as construction gawkers to.
The other beaches on the french side where its regularly practiced by many and tolerated by most are Happy Bay Beach, Bay Rouge on the far end and and Long Bay and Plum Bay and the back side of Pinel island but remember that its tolerated long as tthere are no objections. Be respectful of others ann you wont have a problem.

Closer to you is Cupecoy - and not as crowded. It's a little easier to go off by yourself until you are comfortable - if that's what you want.

Otherwise, head to Orient and have a great time!
