Visiting in May

We are staying at the Atrium for the last week of May. Never been to the island so I have a few questions: What is the drinking age in SXM? what days are cruises at port? I hear it's best to shop when they are at sea. Do you have to be 18 or 21 to get into casino's? Average temp in May/June? Thanks!!

I am wondering why your did not get replies. Perhaps you did not do your homework.

I don't know the legal drinking age or for Casino. I think if you are over 18, you should be fine. I don't think the bars and casinos really care much unless you look too obvious.

Average High/Low temperature From January to December in SXM
77/65 77/65 77/65 78/70 80/71 82/71 82/71 83/73 82/70 82/69 80/65 78/62
Are you interested seeing them in Celsius?

In order to know the number of ships in port, you must give a specific date. Ships don't necessary dock by the day of the week.

Atrium is in Simpson area where not too many boat people go there. Most ships dock in Philipsburg. Some ships tender at Marigot. You may find less people shopping there when there are less ships. But I am not sure if you get lower price.

Do your shopping early morning or late afternoon to avoid the cruisers. saturday is usually the best day to avoid a lot of ships.

The legal drinking and gambling age is 18. Most hotels have ad papers for
tours, restauants etc. and they usually say when ships are due in. As for the weather it's great in May. I always bring a light jacket and never have to wear
it.

Drinking age and casinos is, as mentioned, 18. There is a schedule for days the cruise ships will be in port. Suggest you go to www.traveltalkonline.com. Go to the St Maarten section. At top of page is heading for cruise ship schedules. We'll be there May 14-27. It's a great time to be in SXM.
