We would be interested in French, thai, Local, seafood, steak, ribs, pizza, burgers, bbq, - were very versatile but we have very particular tastes....that's not to say that it has to be high end and expensive just really good food. We plan on eating out 9 nights.
thanks,
MK

MK,

Purely a personal opinion, but from the sounds of your post, you'll have no problem finding good places. In 35 years I honestly don't think we've ever had a bad meal - poor service a few times, perhaps, but the food all over the island is awesome.

You can try any of the beachside locations or the GC lolos up to the very high-end dining in Grand Case or at The Atlantis Casino Complex and everything in between and they're all good and varied in both variety and price.

Since you're staying in Simpson Bay area, I personally wouldn't miss the Hideaway at LaVista and/or Pineapple Petes to name but two. My favorite long-time island favorite is Antoine's on Front St., Philipsberg for their signature meals of either lobster thermidor or rack of lamb and dessert souffles to finish the meal.

Respectfully,

pat
:-) :-)

some very good restaurants
Maho area
Moulin Fou...frrench..behind Cheri's
Bajatzu..steak.. across the street from Cheri's
La rosa 2 - Italian

Atlantis Casino Area
Montemarte--French
La Gondola Italian
Rare--steak..expensive..I like Bajatzu better
Temptation -continental..high end

Simspon Bay
Pineapple Pete's fun place..very good food..casual
Lee's Roadside Grill - casual, inexpensive, good grill..fresh fish
Le Bec Fin - French - above Atrium Hotel ..great food.
Buccaneer Beach bar - good bar scene, casual food, hamburgers, etc.. behind Atrium Hotel
Uncle Harry's -- on a barge on the lagoon..very casual.. great food..lobster,fish,steak
Saratoga - Simpson bay Yacht Club--great ambiance-great food..
Pizza Galley -- near the bridge..great pizza
Halsey's - also near the bridge.. very good food.

If you want to eat in some night, get take out at Lido, in Cole Bay.. a plate of ribs, chicken, and side dishes enough to fee 2..for abotu $11.00

Topper's in Simpson Bay is also supposed to be good, although I have never eaten there.

Don't miss eating at the lo los in grand case. If you come before the end of March, Tuesday nights in grand case is Harmony Nights. it's a street scene with lots of roadside vendors, parades, and great eating. If you have been here before, you know of course that grand case is lined with french gourmet restaurants.

I also recommend Yvette's as did a previous poster.. it is a very good local place to eat, in Orleans or what we call French Quarter.

This web site lists some of the restaurants on the island. It is not totally up to date though and some that I mentioned are not listed.

Skipjack's was pretty good last time I was there. I haven't seen it mentioned lately. Does anyone have a recent opinion?
