Hi All

Is it ok to work in saint maarten, i have been travelling around and staying in each place for about 2 months, is saint maarten the kind of place i can do that?

no. you cannot come in with a single ticket. you must have a return ticket
and accommodations on st. maarten are not cheap. and you cannot work without a work permit

since when barbara, did they start checking to see if you have a return ticket. i have been there 20 plus times and have never been checked.us air sells one way tickets everywhere and i would presume others do also.

She didn't say they checked it but this is and has been required for 20 years or more. When you enter and do the immigration card they ask how long your staying and I'm thinking if you said indefinite they might be looking for that return or on going ticket.

they just don't usually bother to ask American tourists.

i have been asked if i have a return ticket and when i have not , they have taken my passport and given it back the day i was leaving. IT DPES HAPPEN.
