i would like to out on a boat excurions where one can go snorkling, rope swing, great crew, etc. had a great time doing a similar activity in Aruba. THis is my fisrt time traveling to St. Maarten. We will be staying at the Royal Islander Club la Plage it is on the Dutch-side, but i believe we will rent a car, so travel will not be an issue.

I am not sure about the boats name but it is operated by a husband and wife who are Dutch. You snorkel and visit three private islands. It may not be as good as Aruba snorkling but I really enjoyed it. The cost was $45.00 US per person.

The boat is located at the marina by Oyster Bay. You can just stop by or call the resort for info. You could also go out to dinner at MaMa's pizza which is just down the road on the French side.

Try the Bluebeard to Prickly Pear Island. We love it. A good sail with snorkeling and lunch on Prickly Pear Island.

The Rhinos are pretty fun also.

There are some pics on our site.

My daughter and a friend took the Rhino rides. They were ok but not great. However, they are a short cab ride from downtown and the bar on the dock had good.

If you enjoy sailing, the Random Wind is a great trip. It lasts all day, includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, drinks, and three snorkeling stops. As has been said, snorkeling in St. Maarten is not as good as other Caribbean islands, but still fun. Random Wind limits the number of participants, so the sailing part of the trip is more relaxing than on an overly crowded catamaran.
