Your music and orient bay question

I just wanted to tell you that I LOVE your musics and I and 12 students from a university in the United States are traveling to Orient Beach in July. Where are the best places for music on the island? Do you recommend any places for caribbean food? We find lots of reviews for French restaurants, but not Carribean. Anyway...loved your music!

Thank you for the compliments! It's very much appreciated!

Okay ... let me give you some tips!

1) Some of the bars on the beach have bands playing during the day and night depending on the day. Typical live sets with a mix of covers in a reggae style. But I've noticed that the bands mostly play when the tourists come in from the cruises. Around this time the beach can get a little crowded but not to worry. They only stay for a short time.

2) There's a village in the main area of Orient Beach. There you'll find various shops and restaurants. One place ... I forget the name ... turned into a club at night. One night they had a foam party. If your into clubs you should check out the casinos. They're mostly around the airport area which is the opposite side of Orient Beach!

3) Caribbean food. Hmmm ... there are some places along the beach you can try. I mostly ate at the Waikiki Bar and Bikini Beach Bar. They had a mix of Caribbean flare and Euro-American food. Also, check out the village. They had some local food. If you rent a car you'll pass by many places along the roads that are more local. Some folks just have small grills shops along the road. You could try them out.

4) If you take a shuttle, taxi or rental go to Marigot. It's not that far from Orient Beach and they have a lot of restaurants both local and Euro-styled.

Feel free to ask me anything else! Thanks again for the compliments!

To caribcpl08 ... thanks for the compliments. I'll answer here since you emailed from work.

1) Orient Bay has a small market village with various stores and restaurants. If you have a kitchenette you can purchase food there for cooking. You'll also save $$$ instead of eating out for everything.

2) My music is available for purchasing if you click on the links at the start of this topic or here.

I'm sending a free mp3 of a new song called "Smooth Nights" to everyone purchasing the CD. A tribute to the nightlife of St. Martin! Enjoy and thanks!
