As most know, Club O was taken over by the owners that bought out Mr. Brink. It seems that they are a very ruthless group in the way they treat people. Here is our saga.
Last year when we went to Club O, we found that our belongings which we had been stored there were sold at a yard sale at the resort along with those of many other guests. This all done without tleeing anyone or making much of an attempt to contact the individuals.
After some haggling, they agreed to pay us for what we went out and bought to replace some of the items. Of course that meant we had to spend the first three days shopping for things we expected to have on arrival.
If you think that is bad, it gets worse.
We are VIP certificate owners that bought back in 2000. Since we weren't returning this year, we decided to redeem them for their value. Keep in mind that we used them last year for our trip.
I just got an email back from them saying that they are not obligated to redeem them. At best, they can give us 25% of their value. Even though it cleary states what the cash value is and the contract states they can be redeemed as well. Again, they do this without notifying anyone of their changed policy.
What don't the new owners understand about taking over a business? If you take it over, you take over the liabilities as well. They certainly can't claim that they didn't know about these at the time.
So come people, you're willing to boycott a restaurant that screws people. Are you willing to boycott Club O as well?
Hey Ed, maybe you've been right all along! LOL!!!!
