Staying on Orient

We are staying on Orient Beach and have transportation to and from the hotel.
We have been to St. Martin three times and have always rented a car. Kind of been there, done that. My question is, is there enough variety of good food and drink on Orient (breakfast, lunch, and dinner to not have a car? I guess I am most concerned about is there restaurants still open for 7-8 pm dinner in April?

There cetainly are more places to eat in the OB village these days and they are certainly open way beyond 8pm. Cote Plage, Planet Orient, La Chappelle, an oriental restaurant ( name? ) Fish Bar ( changed hands but still there I think) Tap 5 etc etc. This is in addition to places like Papaguyo, L'Astrolobe and Le Plantation. I also have considered not renting a car but have found there are always things I want to do - Grand Case, BBB, SSBB shopping etc etc that make a car rental necessary. It does not take too many cab rides to add up to the cost of a rental car.
